宣统二年,也就是1910,度支部奏定“币制题例”,其主要内容就是废两改元,确定货币单位名称为“元”,以钱为本位,一元为主币,重库单七钱二分。另以五角、二角伍分、一角三种银币,五分银币及二分、一分、五厘、一厘四种铜币为辅币。

这枚大清铜币宣统年造一分的铜币正面由两部分组成,珠圈内为有一条拱背弯曲的巨龙,翻云覆雨。龙头向左,张开大口,霸气外漏,十分威武。珠圈外部上下左右分列着“大清铜币”四字,币边道高出币地表,字体刚劲有力。

铜币另一面也由两部分组成,内圆中心有“一分”二字,周边下缘镌刻两束相交的麦穗装饰,文字和图案一气呵成。靠边道一侧的圆环上方铸刻“宣统三年”四字,旁边各有一朵6瓣梅花。下方从右往左铸刻着“十枚换银币一角”。
